What do you like most about your role?
I like the opportunity to go ‘out and about’ meeting new people and experiencing different business environments.
Why UHY Hacker Young?
Working for UHY Hacker Young in Brighton means I receive all the benefits that working for a medium sized, top 20 firm offer, including;
- the resources of a national organisation of firms, such as in-house training.
- the breadth of experience, which is sometimes not always gained in larger firms.
How does the firm support you through your exams?
As well as supporting me through my exams with study leave, my colleges were always happy to answer any technical questions I had. Most importantly, they always took me out to celebrate when the exams were over and the results came in!
How does UHY Hacker Young support your development?
You are able to gain experience in different departments such as; audit, accounts and tax. I also received regular consultations with the training partner about what I would like to do and how that fits in with the firm’s objectives and facilities.
Do you work late into the evenings or are you home in time for 'Hollyoaks'?
I prefer to come in early to get my work done, my evenings were for studying when I was sitting my exams and now I like to go to the gym, art classes and catching up with my friends.
What makes a good auditor?
Good communication skills and an inquisitive mind.
